ZPower Selected as GoingGreen 100 Award Winner

Company's Product Innovation, Market Potential, Commercialization, Stakeholder Value, and Media Attention Cited as Tops in Field

CAMARILLO, CA – September 17, 2007 – ZPower Inc., a leading global provider of silver-zinc, rechargeable battery technology for consumer electronic devices, is proud to announce that the company has been selected by AlwaysOn as one of the "GoingGreen 100 Top Private Companies" in the Energy Storage category for 2007. The GoingGreen100 Top Private Companies list represents organizations who are successfully implementing green practices across a variety of fields such as energy storage, energy management, clean energy, water, biofuel and agriculture, transportation, construction, manufacturing, and resource recovery establishments.

The first-annual elite list represents a select group of innovators in the clean-technology industry. More than 500 private companies were nominated by a group of top venture capital firms and a group of green technology insiders. In order to be included in the final selection ZPower, Inc. was determined to demonstrate excellence in five specific areas of evaluation: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value creation and media attention.

“We at ZPower are proud to be named among some of the most innovative private companies who are transforming their industries on a daily basis,” said Dr. Ross Dueber, President of ZPower, Inc. “Our goal has always been to create a product that provides safe and efficient power, while recognizing our responsibility to the environment. Receiving this award is truly gratifying.”

The rechargeable silver-zinc battery technology developed by ZPower Inc. offers three primary benefits which include high performance, safety and clean technology. ZPower' batteries deliver a high ratio of energy to volume (Wh/I) in applications such as notebook computers, cell phones and consumer electronics. ZPower' batteries are the only rechargeable batteries that generate as much as up to 40% more run time than lithium-ion batteries in consumer applications.

ZPower' batteries also offer consumers an environmentally friendly alternative. The primary elements used to produce the batteries can be 100 percent recycled and re-used. The raw materials recovered in the recycling process of silver-zinc batteries are the same quality as those that went into the creation of the battery. Environmental impact is lessened since the need to mine for new materials is minimized. The company plans to offer incentives so consumers can save money by recycling the batteries.

In addition to the performance and environmental benefits, ZPower' batteries are inherently safe. The technology features a water-based chemistry that is not flammable or toxic. The battery contains no lithium or flammable liquids and is therefore free from the problems of thermal runaway, fire and danger of explosion. Since there is no danger of thermal runaway, fire or explosion the batteries are not subject to airline restrictions, including the U.S. Department of Transportation safety guidelines enacted this past spring for those flying commercial airlines with portable batteries.

ZPower is currently working with leading manufacturers of notebook computers and cell phones to incorporate silver-zinc technology in next generation products. ZPower will begin high volume production of ZPower' batteries in mid 2008.

Dr. Dueber will be a featured speaker in the Extended Battery Life (EBL) panel at the Fall 2007 Intel Developer Forum, September 18-20 in San Francisco. The panel, titled “Realizing the Vision of All Day and Beyond Battery Life for Mobile PCs,” will present insights into the significance of battery life and will discuss industry initiatives underway to extend battery life. ZPower will also exhibit its ZPower' batteries within the EBL Community at IDF. The company won Intel's “Technology Innovation Accelerated” (TIA) Award in the Mobility category at the 2006 Fall IDF conference.
