Zinc Matrix Power CEO Makes Presentation at Meeting of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology
Presidential advisors learn about benefits of Zinc Matrix Power batteries as part of national energy policy initiative
Camarillo, CA – April 10, 2006 – Dr. Ross Dueber, president and CEO of advanced silver-zinc battery developer Zinc Matrix Power, Inc., was an invited speaker at a recent meeting of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). Dr. Dueber gave a presentation and answered questions on Zinc Matrix Power’s battery technology for portable and stationary energy storage applications. His presentation followed an address given by Secretary of Energy Samuel W. Bodman, who discussed his department’s commitment to improved science and technology, including programs under the President's Advanced Energy and American Competitiveness Initiatives.
Dr. Dueber’s message to PCAST members focused upon rechargeable batteries and the advantages of Zinc Matrix Power’s technology. “Advancements in battery technology are being driven by the increasing demands for greater mobile connectivity and environmentally responsible alternatives,” said Dr. Dueber. “Consumer electronics, communications, hybrid electric vehicles, and renewable energy all share a common need for better, safer batteries. Zinc Matrix Power batteries can substantially extend the runtime and range of the devices they power, while using safe, environmentally friendly materials.”
“We are rapidly bringing to market under Dr. Dueber’s leadership the next generation of advanced, rechargeable batteries,” stated Arthur N. Budge, Jr., chairman of Zinc Matrix Power. “PCAST’s request for his presence at their meeting signifies the tremendous interest our battery technology is generating within governmental and commercial sectors. We believe our battery has the potential to change the game much like lithium-ion did with its introduction in the early 90s.”
